I am an independent trainer, developer and generative AI practitioner. For forty years, I have helped people adopt new ways of creating software. Exploring, experimenting and sharing what I learn are part of who I am. I have enjoyed doing this for decades.

Today, I work on guided generation projects with ChatGPT and Codex: creating documents and visual materials, structuring ideas, and building and evolving software. I enjoy turning an intention into something tangible, then working out what makes it reliable and useful.

Learning starts with a real need

I deliver corporate training with IB-Cegos and M2i, particularly in Swift and development on Apple platforms. I shape the content around participants’ needs: their experience, the challenges they face, and what they want to be able to do afterwards.

An initial discussion may reveal a need for local data storage or access to device sensors. During a course, we may give more time to exercises that address the group’s priorities. Participant feedback highlights this flexibility in topics and practical work, as well as my willingness to listen.

I want to bring this experience to helping people adopt generative AI, using a straightforward approach:

  1. Clarify the need and agree on what a useful result would look like.
  2. Build step by step, giving the tool the context and constraints it needs.
  3. Review and refine the output: its content, sources, behaviour or presentation.
  4. Let people practise, so they can repeat the process and adapt it on their own.

The aim is to stay in control of what we ask for and what we use. A convincing answer still needs checking; generated code still needs testing.

Practice that informs teaching

My projects with AI provide concrete examples to teach from: turning existing content into an editable document, refining an instruction, changing an interface, or spotting an error in generated output.

Swift and Apple platforms remain core areas of expertise. I also design learning materials around Apple’s Foundation Models and guided generation. This technical depth informs teaching that I adapt to each person’s vocabulary and goals.

A career across technological transitions

  • Apple Developer Relations, twelve years: supporting French developers, including through the PowerPC transition.
  • Orange Innovation, fifteen years: exploring new paradigms and running workshops on functional reactive programming, declarative interfaces and Kotlin Multiplatform.
  • From classical to programming languages: my early studies in Latin and Greek continue to inform my interest in meaning, concepts and how we express them. I also explored using C++ for disk drivers at a time when assembly language was common.

What connects these experiences is the pleasure of understanding something new, putting it to the test and helping others make it their own.
